BetterFinds Plant Sales

BetterFinds LLC is a Michigan Native Plant Nursery offering Specimen Grade Native Perennials & Ferns. Open April thru October they specialize in spring ephemeral / woodland wildflowers. All stock is open-propagated onsite, originating from legitimate sources or sanctioned rescue. The majority are Native Michigan; with the exception of out-state Trillium species. All plants are grown without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or chemical fertilizers, and offered in either recycled nursery containers or sustainable coir pots (Coconut Fiber - 'Plant the Pot').

Outside Sales begin with the April Meridian Township Farmers Winter Market and often end in early June at the Washtenaw Native Plant Expo. Preorders always appreciated - pick-up at any Outside Sales Date; free delivery on orders over $150 to Lansing and Midland area customer base.

“Buy local, grow local" by participating in the Harris Nature Center’s Native Plant Sale on Saturday, May 2, 2026 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The annual Spring Native Plant Sale includes Michigan native sedges, grasses, wildflowers, ferns and complete garden kits. Proceeds benefit HNC. All plants are grown locally at Designs by Nature and Wild Ginger Woodlands.

Community members can order plants ahead of time or shop on the day of the sale. Pre-orders will be available for pick up on the day of the sale. For those who do not pre-order, there will be additional plant varieties available to purchase on May 2.

Visit the Designs by Nature website where customers can place orders for curbside pickup or have them shipped within Michigan for an extra fee. They sell native wildflowers, grasses and sedges in quart pots, details here, as well as garden kits that include 32 plants of various species in themes such as Monarch Way Station, Pollinator Garden, Shoreline Garden and more.

Designs by Nature provides natural landscaping, design and consulting, environmental education, and habitat management planning in addition to selling Michigan native plants. DeVries Nature Conservancy is partnering with East Michigan Native Plants to bring beautiful perennials for your garden. All plants are grown locally, and the grower Angela Nelson will be on site to provide guidance if you're not sure what you need for your yard.

Wildtype Nursery is open to the public for retail sales on select dates in May and August. Appointments are needed for all days except Saturdays. Appointment scheduling starts April 28th at 9:00 am. Wildtype specializes in growing plants native to Michigan, from Michigan genotypes. They grow trees, shrubs, grasses and wildflowers. It is their objective to propagate nursery stock with enough genetic diversity to create self-sustaining populations. They also offer services such as site assessment, invasive species management, native plant installation and native landscape maintenance.

Midwest Green Services opened in 2022. Their mission is "To promote native wildlife through the conversion of grass deserts to native plantscapes". They grow and sell hardy, native Michigan perennials using an eco-friendly approach.
